Call for Support to Fund Her Move: The Road to SAJCCC
Every girl deserves a chance to make her move.
At HER MOVE AFRICA, we believe that talent should never be limited by circumstance.
Across South Africa, there are young girls from rural areas and townships who train consistently, work hard, and qualify to compete at national chess championships—yet when the moment arrives, many are forced to stay home.
Not because they lack ability or dedication, but because their families cannot afford the costs of participation.
Fund Her Move: Road to SAJCCC was created for these girls.
In 2026, the South African Junior Closed Chess Championships (SAJCCC) will take place at Kgaswane Lodge, Rustenburg. Through this initiative, HER MOVE AFRICA aims to support 18 deserving girls, two from each province—so they can proudly represent themselves and take their rightful place on the national stage.
Our Goal
To remove financial barriers and give 18 talented young girls from underprivileged communities the opportunity to compete at the SAJCCC—an opportunity they have earned through dedication and hard work.
How Girls Will Be Selected
Girls will be selected based on:
Qualification to participate in the SAJCCC
Residence in a rural area or township
Commitment, discipline, and potential in chess
Genuine financial need
What Your Support Will Cover
Your contribution will assist with tournament registration fees (R875 per child)
