KZN shines the brightest at SA Open!

2025 South Africa Chess Open Championships proved to be a good hunting ground for KZN players! Amrienta Gabriels won the Under 8 Girls section with a perfect 5/5, and Hlelolwenkosi Ntshakala took top honours in the Under 10 open section, both demonstrating impressive performances. Prince Mthembu took no prisoners in B-section and was declared the champion. Additionally, Weilun Yan had an outstanding start in the Blitz portion, going perfect 7/7, though he ended up finishing 4th after a gruelling 9 rounds!
